Meagan McGough, A.D.C.R.G., Owner & Director

Meagan started dancing in 1991 and has spent more than twenty years competing with World Champions throughout America, Ireland, Canada, Scotland and Great Britain.  Under the direction of Fedelmia Mullen-Davis (A.D.C.R.G. and Founding Member of the I.D.T.A.N.A.), Meagan has won numerous prestigious awards.  Additionally, Meagan joined the DeNogla School in the later part of her dance career and studied with Alison Nagle (T.C.R.G.) and Jennifer McGovern (A.D.C.R.G.).  She was ranked Top 3 in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireachtas, Top 10 in the North American Championships and has medaled in the All-Ireland Championships.  In addition, Meagan has qualified for twelve World Championships and achieved medal placements for solo competitions.

Although Meagan grew up in Pennsylvania, she presently lives in New York.  She developed a love for New York while attending Fordham University where she participated in many school activities.  One of these activities was the Annual Fordham Fashion for Philanthropy Show that raised funds for the “Make-A-Wish Foundation.”  Along with her many successful activities at Fordham, Meagan continued her activities in the Irish Dance Community.   In March 2011, Meagan passed her T.C.R.G. exam and became a member of the Irish Dancing Teacher Association of North America, the Irish Dancing Teacher Association of the Mid-Atlantic Region and of “An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha” (The Irish Dancing Commission in Ireland).  In May 2017, Meagan passed her A.D.C.R.G. exam and will be able to pursue adjudicating Irish dance competitions.

In addition to Meagan’s many successes in Irish Dancing, her other accomplishments consist of being the 2007 Philadelphia “Mary from Dungloe” and finished as a finalist in the International Mary from Dungloe in Donegal, Ireland.  Previously, Meagan was a runner-up in the Miss Philadelphia Pageant and was awarded the First Place Talent Award in this pageant for her “Irish Dance Performance.”

After graduating from Fordham University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Meagan joined The Estée Lauder Companies where she learned the art of providing the customer with a “High Touch” experience, which she has instilled in her practice at the McGough Academy.  Most recently, Meagan joined Bain Capital Ventures and is enjoying her experience learning from investors and small business owners the art of building a successful company!  In May 2015, Meagan was awarded the Irish Echo “Excellence in Small Business” award and was honored to be recognized by USA’s most widely read Irish-American newspaper.  Meagan has over a decade of experience teaching Irish dance and she looks forward to inspiring incoming students for decades to come!
